(perhaps based on serial # sequencing). I am assuming it is an import preban with the #'s 66 inside a triangle. Any idea what this rifle is worth (approximate) in todays market?
Thanks 27AKignoranthandI recall the 56S came into the US as a semi auto rifle around 1985. The earliest ChiCom AKs I'm aware of were the all-black AKs marketed through 'Clayco' circa 1983-84 and are so marked. 66 is the plant that made it.
Norinco or RPC. Is this what you have? I recall the 56S came into the US as a semi auto rifle around 1985. The earliest ChiCom AKs I'm aware of were the all-black AKs marketed through 'Clayco' circa 1983-84 and are so marked. 66 is the plant that made it. Norinco or RPC. Is this what you have?
Yes, The packaging is identical as are the contents (less the manual). The rifle was fired a few hundred times and found a home in someones attic. That gunbroker $$ seems high. I would imagine it is only due to being unfired and low S/N. I'll visit some AK forums to try to get more info and what this rifle is worth. I offered up quite a bit less based on what Dunhams sale price on AK's was a few weeks ago and the owner is considering the offer.
Pokemon movie lengkap sub indo. I really wasn't looking for an AK but may get it if the deal goes through. It'll then have a home between the 2 Chinese SKS's I have. 27hand Last edited by 27hand; December 20th, 2008 at 08:12 PM.
Before the election Pre-Ban 56s were going from $900 to about $1300. So it's not that far off. Go over to theakforum.net, they will definitely be able to help you out. Got a picture? Thanks Mojo. I have no pic yet but it is almost identical to the gunbroker pic in the previous link. 2 of the three mags were still in plastic sheath as are all the accessories.
It has a 5 digit S/N Cardboard box with styrofoam insert is the same except the last pic of the end box panel reads 'Made in China' along with caliber and 56S markings. Thanks again. I'll mosy on over to theakforum 27hand. I wish I could understand what makes a gun like this worth that kind of cash and what this rifle would be worth with a few hundred rounds through it. I would be into a Colt 6920 before buying an AK at those bucks. 27handThere are two reasons. That it's a pre-ban AK.
This means that it was 100% made in it's country of origin (China). So not US parts needed and no US company modifying it. So it's basically as close to a real AK as your going to get and not have to worry about NFA stuff. It's chinese and Ronnie said. They ain't importing any more.
In this video I demo the fact that most Wasr10/63s have more matching serial numbers then Arsenal AKs do. If you watch the nutnfancy video where he goes to the Arsenal factory. You will see Walker English show nutnfancy a couple of Wasr10/63s that HE went and got. And he shows how the serial number on the bolt doesnt match the boltcarrier. And then shows the bolt and boltcarrier from his Arsenal rifle.
And the bolt SN matches the boltcarrier. I bet if he took the rest of those wasr10/63s apart he would have looked stupid. The reason Walker would look stupid is because The Arsenal rifles only have 2 matching SN's. And they don't even match the reciever SN. All my WASR10/63s have way more matching parts.
This WASR10/63 has at least 6 matching SN's. 3 times what the 'GREAT' Arsenal rifles have. Thank you for watcing.

I have searched the Interweb and have a general idea on this serial number but I am still somewhat confused on the date. The serial number consists of a triangle (no arrow) followed. 1981S-AH1969 I am assuming this is a 1981 kit but wanted to make sure. Does the 'S' or the 'AH' have any significance? Thanks in advance.
Squid '1981' - Year of production 'S' - Semi-auto sear 'AH1969' - Serial number The serial numbers started at AA0001 they progressed through AA9999 then started with AB0001 ect. I have seen many kits with the 'AH' serial number prefix. Most were 'new' when demillied rifles. With feathers is strictly Russian! That is a triangle with a complete arrow. Romanians did use feathered arrows on their 74 bayonets.;) Image 2: This close-up view shows several unique features of the Romanian AK-74 bayonet, to include the 'last four' digit serial number done with a mechanical engraver, green textile belt hanger strap, mold numbers, and the crudely formed arsenal code.
While very close to the Soviet 'Arrow-In-Triangle' design, the shape is different and unique to itself. Bakelite is dark, matte in finished texture, and rough to the touch compared to other countries.
